Best Backpack for School: Dakine 8210010 DLN OS DaKine Jewel Backpack

Dakine 8210010 DLN OS DaKine Jewel Backpack

I purchased this backpack so I could use it next year (my sophomore year of highschool) for school, but also for when I go on 14-hour plane ride next month. I wanted something spacious but not bulky, and practical but cute. The Dakine Jewel definitely fulfilled my wants! It's perfect for a high schooler who has their locker on the opposite side of campus and can't go there very often!
There is an extremely padded laptop space, which I can fit my 13" MacBook Pro into. The main compartment is extremely spacious, which I can fit my agenda, 5 FiveStar notebooks, and 3 textbooks into. The plush-lined sunglass pouch and organzier pockets are very convenient, as well as the unique insulated cooler pocket, which I can fit a CapriSun, a sandwich, and a clementine into. I stick other snacks into a "Byo" lunchbox which I simply put into the main compartment. Even with all of my supplies in it, it doesn't look bulky and it feels pretty comfortable on my shoulders, with its padded straps and back.
I would definitely recommend this to someone who is in school and has to carry around several notebooks, textbooks, binders, and even a laptop!
(I got the Oxford design, it's so cute and easily matches with my clothes!)

  1. I bought this backpack fro the 6th grade and I have used it until 9th grade. It is great quality and its also very fashionable. My favorite feature is the in side of the pockets all have different prints(polka dots). also, i always had to take my laptop to school, there was a very handy laptop case which is already padded so i did not need another case at all. All in all this backpack is a great quality and i would definitely recommend it.

I just ordered another one because I loved the first one so much! I'm a college senior majoring in nursing and I used my previous backpack for over 2 years before the zipper broke. This backpack can carry a 15 inch laptop, multiple, huge science books, my lunch or snacks, 2 water bottles and even has an organizer for pencils and things. The straps are designed to carry heavy weights and the backpack keeps my back from hurting after a long day walking all over campus. I highly recommend it!!

This bag is absolutely fantastic. We got this as a larger diaper bag for overseas travel but have since used it as our everyday baby bag as well. The bag has so many pockets in strategically smart places that it is a joy to use. I especially appreciate the built-in cooler in the front. I am able to carry some meals and if needed frozen breastmilk with us without having to lug a separate cooler. The two large and deep side mesh pockets are also great. I can carry an empty bottle and formula packs in one, a water bottle or snacks in the other. I use the laptop pocket in the very back as diapering pocket: I keep all diapering supplies in the. The length of that pocket runs the entire back of the pack, so you can carry a nice large diaper pad with you. The small organizational pocket in the front and media pocket above that are nice for putting some of your own stuff into, or to carry some medications or other hygiene products. I have always appreciated Dakine's ergonomic strap design as well. It wraps nicely and snuggly around my back and I can even put it over an Ergo without it feeling strange. This is a pack that is good for anything. We got it in Devin, which looks so much nicer in person than in the picture. It's very charming. I love it.

I'm a college student who like most college students has multiple books to lug around campus. This book bag is perfect for carrying heavy books because of its wide straps and the weight seems to be dispersed rather evenly. It also has a cute design. This is a very white bag, but it's also very easily cleaned. I just take a wet rag and get dirt off it easily.

I love this backpack! There are lots of pockets to stay organized and it can fit everything I need during the day for school (I'm a sophomore in college). It is also very comfortable. Even with my mac, a giant organic chemistry book, and some notebooks, it doesn't feel too heavy. I really like the separate computer pocket so my mac is protected, but if I don't have my computer it is out of the way. I thought that the cooler pocket would be wasted space for me, but it's a really nice, deep pocket that I use for carrying fruit, computer cable, or any other little things. I have used it for one semester and it seems very sturdy - I'm sure it will last a long time!

I love this packpack even though I accidentally ordered the wrong color. I'm glad I did though because I like this one so much! The inside has an awesome pattern and I love the laptop sleeve that easily fits my 17" laptop. I'm also able to take snacks or lunch easily in the front pocket. This backpack serves all the purposes that I needed. It is very comfortable. The only thing is that I wish I were a bit taller because the body of the backpack is a little long for me in a way that the straps cannot fix but it is not the backpack's fault that I am only 5'2". Other than that, this packback is great!

  8. I am a sophomore in college and I am able to fit my GIANT Accounting book, my econ book, and two other small books AND my 13" MacBook Pro (which has ample padding I might add), all without this backpack seeming too heavy. I got it in pinstripe/twill and the pin striping is very light-which is fine by me because now my backpack goes with everything. I highly recommend this!
