Best Backpack for School Wildkin Trains Planes Trucks Backpack

Wildkin Trains Planes Trucks Backpack

I love this cute little back pack. My son is 1 and we use it to carry his daily supplies back and forth to daycare and as a substitute diaper bag. He likes the bright colors and he knows it's his bag. We get lots of compliments on it where ever we go. It's the perfect size for a toddler and the straps are adjustable. It's sturdy and well made, and though it's on the small side, it holds just the right amount of stuff, (which for us is a lot since I'm an over-packer anyway). The name-tag inside didn't bleed and run when I wrote my son's name on it like most fabric tags do. The front pocket is great for the things you need more frequently like kleenux, and small toys, and it has a loop you can hook your keys onto. The side pouch is the perfect fit for a sippy cup. I so glad I got this; I just ordered the matching lunchbox and if I'm half as happy with it as I am with this backpack I'll be really pleased.

Two weeks after I posted this review, and after barely 2 months of use, the zipper for the main compartment broke. I was heartbroken. I searched everywhere for the receipt so I could call for a possible replacement, but no luck. I spent an hour trying to repair it, which to my amazement, I eventually did, but now I feel that it's fragile and I'm waiting for it to break again. So I wanted to add this warming. Do not over-pack and stretch the zipper, it's only plastic and will stretch and bend. Keep an eye on the teeth as you can see them separating and that is your warning of impending breakage.

I know this is made for little kids, but if I was the maker of this product I think that I would use a metal zipper for the main compartment as they are stronger and can take a lot more abuse than a plastic one.

I still love and would recommend this product, I'd just be a little more careful with it.

It's now been 9 months since I repaired the zipper and I haven't had a single problem with it since then. And, we LOVE the lunch box just as much as the backpack.

This is a very nice, high quality, little backpack that is a good size for a preschooler. The construction (zippers, mesh pocket) seem like they will hold up for a long time. I am very happy with this product and my son loves it! I will definitely purchase Wildkin backpacks in the future.

  2. Great backpack for Preschoolers. Fits a regular size folder with plenty of room for all the other things. Great material too!

  3. I think I would love this backpack if it were available. When I ordered it, it was out of stock. Looks like I'll be cancelling the order since it has been several weeks and it has not been re-stocked.

  4. This back pack is perfect for any boy who goes pre-school or K- level and loves all of the action cars/trucks like police car, ambulance car, tow truck etc.. My son is 4 years old and he loves this backpack. I bought this for him to go to pre-school. The material is good. It is very well made. It has a pocket on the side to put a good size of water bottle. Perfect size of backpack for pre-school to K- level. The backpack is big enough to fit a regular size of folder; but it will not fit a regular size of ring binder. It is not recommend for first grade.

My son loves this backpack. He is an average size 3 year-old and it fits perfectly. It's good size (not teeny-tiny), but it doesn't overwhelm his body. The straps are wide and lightly padded. The outer compartment has a mesh pocket inside for smaller items. It will be perfect for pre-school...to carry a change of clothes, a snack, and to bring home art projects and announcements from school. A standard sized folder fits inside if you bend the top slightly inward, otherwise it fits, but you cannot close the zipper all the way. If you need to place a binder inside, it's not big enough. It appears well-made.

I absolutely love this little backpack and my 9 month old son does too! Besides being able to carry everything he needs for daycare, I found that it is a much more convenient diaper bag. We love that it matches his nap mat.

Cute and a good size for a toddler to carry some of his favorite toys and extra clothes. It seems to be made quite well.

  8. This backpack is very well made and the colors are very bright. My son loves it. We bought it for day care and it is big enough to send all of his necessities, including an extra set of clothes and a jacket. The pocket in front fits a full lunch or an after school snack. Sometimes on the weekends I use this instead of a diaper bag!
