Best School Backpack:s High Sierra Powerglide Backpack Charcoal

High Sierra Powerglide Backpack Charcoal

I've had this backpack for about 7 months, and in that time, I've really put it to the test. I stuff it full and walk it a total of about 3 miles to school and back about 3-4 times a week. It held up in fall - wheels right over all those leaves that my old backpack used to just drag. It held up in winter - great on ice and packed snow; it works okay in slushy snow, but starts to drag a pile of slush when it gets really thick. I can't believe how durable the backpack is! It's very large, so I try not to wear it on my back too often, but it's comfortable when I do. I have trouble finding adult-sized backpacks with straps that tighten enough to fit comfortably. These adjust perfectly to my size. I haven't tried flying with it - it looks like it might be hard to fit it under the seat in an airplane. It should fit in the overhead compartments without any problem, though.

The issues some people have had with the small front media pocket isn't really a problem for me. I think the zipper positioning is due to a seam issue - since the pocket is adjacent to the second main compartment of the backpack. I walked 1.5 miles with it unzipped and my ipod and lip gloss didn't fall out. Just don't stuff that pocket too full, and it should be fine.

My only complaint is that the wheels are starting to show some wear (as I expected considering how much I use it), and I wish there were some way for me to just buy new wheels and change them out.

High Sierra Powerglide Wheeled Book Bag Backpack

I had a lot of trouble deciding for a backpack, so i thought, why not take time out and make life easier for others. Hope it helps.

Bag is a 5/5! awesome buy!

  2. I bought this book bag for my daughter because the last bag I bought her fell apart. She loves it. The tires have tread so they roll easily on the grass of her college campus, the bottom is solid and the compartments are sewn separately so they don't tear. It is also sturdy enough to hold all of her college books (6 I think) without breaking down or tearing. She is very happy and that makes me happy.

Great backpack. Has held up really well to a year of use and abuse by a middle-schooler. Comfortably fits a laptop in a padded compartment, in addition to several binders in the main compartment. Small pocket at top is great for bus-tickets or items that need to be easily accessed. Useful zippered side pockets as well. I highly recommend this rolling backpack.

I purchased this backpack for nursing school and am glad that I did not go with anything smaller. I fit all that I need (just barely on some days:)) but overall have plenty of room. It glides smooth and the handle is very nice and sturdy, and the zippers are strong enough that it won't split out when zipping up packed full of stuff. The carrying handle on top is excellent for lugging into the car and up stairs. I've noticed it is a popular choice in class as well, there are @4 others with the same bag!I have the red one and really like it, it is not too red.

The average weight of my son's old backpack was between 20-25 LBS. This was a huge relief for him and for me. Very convenient, lots of pockets, especially the side pockets for water bottles. Stitching, zippers and retracting handle looks really sturdy. My wife says it's a bit tall (9x22x14), I think if we bought something smaller, it might not accomodate my son's school stuff. This is a good buy.

I have gone back to school, and decided that carrying the books with an over the shoulder back pack was not for me. I love this rolling back pack. I spent a lot of time looking into back packs, and rolling bags trying to decide what was best for me. This back pack is made of a tuff material, rolls well, the handle is long enough so it's not uncomfortable for me to use (I'm 6'3), the wheels seem to be well made, and do not seem to be wobbeling or leaning in or out. I typically have 25-35 lbs of books and cpu in this bag. The two main pockets are deep and roomy. The padded pocket for the laptop, is located in the middle of the bag, inside the front pocket. I have a standard size lap top and it fits it fine. My lap top seems to be well protected. I wish it had a few more exterior pockets, and the support structure for the wheels, and handle are only covered by a thin nylon liner. When I set my books inside, I noticed that the edges where getting dented from it. I cut out some cardboard to fit the bottom, to protect the books.

The straps are not designed for extensive carry, that does not bother me, since I've yet to put it over my shoulder. They are tucked out of the way, under a zippered flap, that folds out and attaches to the bottom to cover the wheels if I ever decide to use it that way. There is a small top strap or handle that seems to be sturdy, and stitched well. I use this to lift it in and out of the trunk and carry it up the stairs.

Overall review, I highly reccomend this rolling back pack.

I purchased this item for my 13 year old nephew. He had gotten a less expensive one for Christmas that broke within a month. He absolutely loves this product and it is holding up well.

The back pack I received was much more than I expected and was well worth the price. It is large enough for my 17 inch computer and has many places in it to put your needed stuff. I am using it for school, but would be great on a trip as well. In fact will test that on my next trip. This is an excellent product and I highly recommend it as a good buy.
