The Best Ever: Dakine 8210050 DAKINE Garden Kinzer

Dakine 8210050 DAKINE Garden Kinzer

I usually lug around a messenger bag when I'm out and about, but I wanted a backpack for my recent trip to Vegas. I was looking around for a pack that was lightweight and rather small; much smaller than ones used by students. I discovered Dakine packs, and now I'm a fan!

There are several things I love about the 13-liter Grom Pack:

++ Just the right size--small, but big enough for everything I need, with plenty of room to spare. Its about 15 inches tall, about 10 inches wide.
++ Padded shoulder straps. These are essential for me when picking a backpack. Very comfortable. The much smaller Dakine 6-Liter Go Go Pack did not have this, which is why I decided to upgrade to the Grom.
++ Sternum strap. Makes the pack even more comfortable, and will stabilize the shoulder straps. I am able to wear my pack all day without much fatigue at all.
++ Padded back. Again, good for comfort.
++ Thick, rugged material for the bottom of the pack; its not hard/plastic, it just makes the bottom a little more stable than the slightly thinner material on the rest of the pack.
++ Love the color I chose, "Highland".
++ Bungee cord on the outside was used to clip all of my casino club cards; quick storage for hats, too.
++ Can attach my Timbuk2 cell phone holder to the left shoulder strap for easy access to my iPhone.

Some things I hope to see in the future for this line of Dakine packs:

-- Key clip/bungie in one of the external compartments.
-- Needs at least one internal pocket in the main compartment.
-- Ventilation for the padded back.

This is now my everyday pack; take it to work, shopping, amusement parks, pretty much everywhere I go. Its much more comfortable to use than my messenger bags and is near perfect for my needs. Definitely recommend the Grom Pack to anyone looking for a smaller-sized backpack.

I've only had this bag for upwards of a month now, and it's served me very well. As a soon-to-be college graduate I've accumulated a wealth of materials I need to carry with me at all times, and this bag does beautiful job of carrying all of it! I've even been able to stuff a few days worth of clothes for weekend trips home or elsewhere.

From what I've found, I'm able to fit my 17" laptop (with cover!), a 1" binder, 3 notebooks and two smaller address-book-sized books all in the main large compartment, and that's not including all the other pockets as well!

Not only is the bag really pretty (I bought the Riviera style) but if you keep the DAKINE tag, the company will fulfill a lifetime warantee on wear-and-tear damage!

Absolutely love it. I can fit my chem book (Chemistry Chang 10th ed), 1 in binder, small planner and my MBP 13 which is the most I carry to school. It all fits perfectly, even looking a little slim! Using my jansport made the bag look huge, this backpack hides all the stuff very well.

I purchased this bag because I just got a laptop, and I wanted to get a laptop case and a backpack in one! The only problem is, I have a pretty large laptop, so it doesn't fit in the designated space, but it does fit in the main backpack pocket! I love this backpack, and I especially like the insulated sunglasses pocket! I definately reccomend this brand!

This backpack is exactly what I was looking for. It's well made, comes in lots of cute colors, and doesn't hold too much stuff. I love the special sunglasses pocket and the padded laptop pocket.

Overall, I think this is an awesome backpack. It's very durable, and the pockets are conveniently placed. It's great if you don't carry around a lot of books, and it doesn't fall over when you set it up against a desk like most other backpacks do. I purchased one 2 years ago and have been using it ever since.

    Pros:
    -Durable and Sturdy
    -Laptop Sleeve
    -Adjustable Straps
    -Many Pockets

    Cons:
-Expands 6 inches... at most. (literally it dosent expand any farther than that)

I would NOT recommend this backpack to people who are going to be carrying a lot of books around. It's about the size of a Jansport backpack, so if you think those are small, I would not recommend this as the backpack for you.

I have been looking for the perfect day hike/travel/college backpack. This product is amazing for all three! It is not that small, but it is not that big. Also, it fits my 15in. laptop in the sleeve, which is a plus! The volume is tight, but I can fit so much stuff inside (camera, i-pod, notebooks, laptop, large wallet, pencil case, small make-up bag, phone and a good book to read). The best part of all is that the backpack is not bulky, but smooth. Right of the bat, the material looks and feels incredibly durable. It will definitely be around for a very long time. I am looking forward to buying more DAKINE products to match my Houndstooth Garden Backpack!

I was fed up using and wearing purses when I hit Amazon to look for a cute everyday backpack. I hate carrying a purse on one shoulder and never having enough room to carry around all of my stuff. This backpack is cute but not huge. The last thing I wanted was to look like a highschool kid carrying around an enormous backpack. This is big enough for all of my stuff but cute, slim, and stylist enough that I still feel like an adult carrying it. I love all the small pockets and the side pockets. The back is padded nicely and the straps are very comfortable.

I'm in college and I gotot the bird love style backpack. I absolutely LOVE it.
It is kinda small but the measurements are in the desciption so I don't think people should've given bad reviews because of that.
I don't take a rediculous amount of things to my classes so this backpack is a perfect fit for all my stuff and even if it wasn't i'd keep it just because of how beautiful it is (:

  10. I was prepared to but a designer backpack for everyday use, back and forth to work. I am very delighted that I made this purchase and did not spend near as much as I would have for a designer backpack. It is very stylish and will meet my needs. It is light weight and feels good on my shoulders. An excellent purchase and I do not need to carry a purse.
